Canon Solutions America is pleased to announce several new innovations and updates to the Colorado M-series modular 64-inch printer with optional UVgel white ink.

• FLXture - the new PRISMAguide XL v3.4 software available free of charge on the Colorado M-series printer with optional white ink, will add micro-texture to large format prints for subtle surface detail, copying the luxurious and sensory feel of materials such as wood and leather. FLXture makes it possible to print a background texture, embossed lettering, or relief graphic on high-value packaging, labels, wallcovering, and other products.
• UVgel Packaging Factory - the UVgel Packaging Factory makes it possible to produce short run high quality prints on liner media that can be integrated into traditional litho lamination workflow for packaging and corrugated display applications. With the optional jumbo roll loader, the UVgel Packaging Factory can run unattended 30-inch diameter rolls of litho media up to 880 pounds. Print with the optional FLXfinish+, white ink, and FLXture capabilities to produce unique look for retail and luxury packaging.
• Membrane Switches - the capabilities of the Colorado M-series printer and UVgel technology now also extend to industrial print applications, specifically printing graphic overlays for industrial membrane switches for electronic control panels. Printed on a polymer substrate, such as polyester or polycarbonate, the ink used for graphic overlays needs to be hard-wearing and flexible to prevent delamination. In these aspects, UVgel technology excels, both in terms of durability to reduce the need for lamination and elasticity for printing on flexible media without cracking.
• New Jumbo Roll Interface Kit - combined with the Fotoba Jumbo Roll Loader, the new Jumbo roll interface kit for the Colorado M-series printer now makes it possible to handle jumbo rolls of transparent, structured, metallic, and dark-colored media for unattended print production.
